Open projects

1 min read planning, workflow, focus

Keep the number of simultaneously open projects small enough to stay focused.

Keep the number of simultaneously open projects small. That makes physical planning manageable, because the active work fits on paper, on a wall, or on a table without turning into a sprawl.

Everything else can stay digital until it is ready to come back into view. That keeps the backlog available without forcing every idea into the active set at once, and it leaves room for Periodic idea transfer when ideas need to stay out of the active set.

The split between notes and projects is the same one described in Notes and projects: notes hold the general ideas, while projects hold the concrete work.
